Frequently Asked
Questions

Answers to what trainers most care about — how you earn, how it works, and how it benefits you and your athletes.

How will I get paid as a trainer on Edge?

Athletes subscribe to Edge through the App Store, just like any other app.

When they sign up using your unique trainer code, a portion of their monthly subscription is automatically attributed to you.

Trainers earn recurring revenue when their athletes stay active and complete weekly Edge challenges. We pay trainers quarterly. Your first payout occurs at the end of the quarter following your first full month of qualifying athlete participation.

What does it cost me to join?

There is no cost for trainers to join Edge.

No subscription fee. No setup fee. No platform charge.

Athletes pay a monthly subscription, and you participate in that recurring revenue.

How much does the athlete subscription cost?

Athletes subscribe through the App Store for a monthly fee. Pricing is designed to be accessible for families while creating meaningful recurring income for trainers.

Exact pricing may evolve as we refine the platform.

How do I get started?

We've made it simple:

  1. You sign up as a trainer.
  2. You receive a unique trainer code.
  3. Your athletes download the app and enter your code when they register.

That's it. Once athletes are connected to you and begin subscribing, you start earning recurring revenue.

Who is Edge Athletics designed for?

Edge is designed for youth trainers and coaches who want to expand their impact and create recurring income without adding more in-person hours.

This includes:

  • Private youth trainers
  • Strength and conditioning coaches
  • Team trainers
  • Coaches working inside school or club programs
  • Coaches looking to build sustainable funding streams for their teams, training groups, or booster-supported programs

Edge gives coaches a structured, measurable athletic foundation that supports long-term durability, performance, and athlete development — while also creating a scalable revenue layer that can help offset program costs, equipment needs, travel expenses, or booster club fundraising goals.

How does sports-specific content fit into Edge?

Edge is built first around foundational athletic development — the physical qualities that underpin all sports.

Athletes and trainers can also use sports-specific skill content inside the app, but that content is not the core of the scoring system. Weekly Edge athletic challenges are what help round out an athlete's Edge Score and create a more complete picture of development.

In other words: sports-specific work helps with engagement, while the Edge challenges power the broader performance metric.

What exactly is Edge Athletics?

Edge Athletics is a youth athletic development platform built around foundational athletic dimensions that apply across all sports.

Athletes complete weekly Edge challenges, log their results, and build an Edge Score over time. Families and coaches can see progress more clearly, and trainers gain a measurable visibility layer that supports both coaching and recurring revenue.

How is Edge connected to VSP?

Edge is powered by the philosophy and programming developed at VSP — a physical youth performance facility in Northport, NY where athletes train in semi-private, customized sessions.

The system inside Edge was refined in a real training environment before being built digitally.

What do athletes actually see inside the app?

Athletes see short, leveled programs inside the app that include both foundational athletic work and optional sports-specific skill content.

The most important part of the platform is the weekly Edge athletic challenge system, which helps build a more complete Edge Score across dimensions like speed, agility, coordination, strength, and endurance.

Athletes can also track progress over time, see how they are improving, and get guided calls to action that help them complete and strengthen their Edge Score. Team-based competition and cohort comparisons are meant to keep the experience fun and motivating, not labeling.

What tools do I get to manage and monitor my athletes?

Trainers receive a dashboard where you can see athlete engagement, weekly Edge challenge completion, and progress across both foundational athletic dimensions and sports-specific skill work.

You can see who's active, who may need support, how athletes are responding to team-based competition, and which athletes are contributing to recurring revenue by completing the weekly challenges.

Edge isn't just an athlete app. It's a trainer visibility layer designed to give you leverage across your entire roster, not just the athletes you see in person each week.

Why focus on foundational athletic development?

Early sports specialization has been linked to increased injury risk in youth athletes.

Edge emphasizes broad athletic development to build more durable, resilient athletes who can perform consistently and stay available for practices and games.

A stronger foundation benefits every sport.

Is this replacing my coaching?

No.

Edge complements your coaching. It provides structured foundational work between sessions and measurable tracking that strengthens your credibility.

You remain the coach. Edge gives you leverage.

Will this actually help with athlete retention?

Yes.

When athletes can see their progress — and parents can understand it — engagement increases. Transparency builds trust. Trust builds retention.

How do you ensure quality and consistency?

All foundational programming is built around a defined athletic philosophy developed through VSP's live training environment.

As the platform evolves, quality standards will remain central to maintaining credibility and long-term athlete development.

Is this only for local athletes in New York?

No.

VSP is the physical birthplace of the system in Northport, NY. Edge is built to scale nationally.

Can clubs or school athletic programs use Edge?

Yes. Edge can be used by individual trainers, sports clubs, and school athletic programs. When athletes participate, a portion of the subscription can flow back to the trainers, clubs, or programs supporting them.

This creates a simple way for organizations to support athlete development while generating recurring funding for their programs.

What's coming next?

Future phases include expanded sport-specific skill pathways and opportunities for trainers to contribute content within a structured quality framework.

We're building carefully to protect quality while expanding opportunity.
